Como instalar un agente linux para OCSInventory NG

Ya tenemos inventarios de hardware y de software por medio de OCSInventory NG en equipos Windows y hoy les mostrare como instalar un agente linux en un Ubuntu Desktop. Aunque el articulo es con Ubuntu el proceso de instalación y configuración es el mismo para otras distribuciones linux.

IP servidor OCSInventory NG: 192.168.1.40

-Descargamos el cliente para linux.
wget -c https://launchpad.net/ocsinventory-unix-agent/stable-2.1/2.1rc1/+download/Ocsinventory-Unix-Agent-2.1rc1.tar.gz

-Descomprimimos
tar xzvf Ocsinventory-Unix-Agent-2.1rc1.tar.gz
cd Ocsinventory-Unix-Agent-2.1rc1

-Instalamos los siguientes módulos perl. Si no sabes como instalarlos, aquí en este articulo muestro como configurar Perl e instalar algunos módulos.

Net::CUPS (opcional, útil si tenemos impresoras instaladas)

-Verificamos tengamos instalado:
sudo apt-get install dmidecode pciutils nmap

-Compilamos e instalamos, la mayoria de las respuestas por default dentro de [] por lo general son correctas y con solo presionar ENTER es suficiente a no ser que necesitemos otro valor. Mostrare los que yo use.

Como agregar un cliente Windows 8 en OCSInventory paso a paso
En un articulo anterior instalamos y configuramos un servidor para tener inventario de hardware y software con OCSInventory. Hoy les mostrare como agregar un cliente Windows 8 en OCSInventory paso a paso.
De esta forma tendremos mas control de que aplicaciones tenemos instaladas, cuales son licenciadas, que hardware tenemos en uso, tiene slots libres? a estas y otras preguntas les encontraremos respuesta.

-Comenzamos descargando el client para Windows. Recomendable tenerlo en una USB si vamos a agregar varios equipos.

-Descomprimimos el zip y dentro de la carpeta le damos Shift - click botón derecho del mouse escogiendo la opción Ejecutar como administrador. OJO, si no lo hacemos así, el agente se instalara pero no ejecutara cada vez que reiniciemos el equipo.

-Comienza la instalación. Damos click al botón Next.

-Aceptamos la licencia dando click en el botón I Agree.

-Damos click en el botón Next dejando las opciones marcadas por default.

-Escribimos la ip o dominio web del servidor OCSInventory y desmarcamos el uso de certificado. Damos click en el botón Next.

-Si nuestro equipo esta detrás de un proxy, escribimos los datos, sino, solo damos click en el botón Next.

-Escribimos un TAG o valor en el que queremos agrupar este equipo y marcamos la ultima opción para ejecutar un inventario apenas termine de instalar. Damos click al botón Next.

-Damos click al botón Next dejando la carpeta por default donde se instalara.

-Se instala el agente.

-Damos click al botón Finish dejando que se ejecute en la bandeja del sistema.

-Abrimos un browser y navegamos a http://192.168.1.45/ocsreports/ (cambiar por su ip o dominio web) entrando con el usuario admin y damos click al primer botón superior a la izquierda (All computers). Damos click en el nombre del pc debajo de Computer.

-Ya tenemos nuestro inventario de un pc con Windows 8, dando click en los diferentes botones podemos ver hardware y software en uso.

Como instalar OCSInventory 2.1 paso a paso

Somos fanáticos de la tecnología y por ende cada día tenemos mas y mas equipos lo cual nos lleva a buscar una forma de tener un listado o inventario que nos facilite la administración; ese inventario lo tendremos leyendo este articulo donde muestro como instalar OCSInventory 2.1 paso a paso en un servidor Centos 6.4.

NOTA: Articulo mas actualizado a la fecha en este URL sobre OCSInventory


Requerimientos:
Servidor Centos 6.4 actualizado
puerto 80 libre de firewall

-Instalamos dependencias
yum install httpd mod_perl php php-gd php-pear php-devel  php-mysql php-mbstring perl mysql-server mysql make perl-XML-Simple perl-Compress-Zlib perl-DBI perl-DBD-MySQL perl-Net-IP perl-SOAP-Lite perl-Digest-SHA1 lynx gcc zlib-devel pcre pcre-devel mod_perl-devel

-Configuramos perl. Si no sabes como hacerlo, aquí tengo un articulo donde explico como.

-Instalamos Apache::DBI y YAML en perl.

-Agregamos a php
pecl channel-update pecl.php.net
pecl install zip

-Iniciamos MySQL, le colocamos contraseña al usuario root propio y activamos su ejecución cada vez que iniciemos el servidor.
service mysqld start

/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'

chkconfig mysqld on

-Descargamos modulo perl Apache2-SOAP y lo compilamos e instalamos
cd /tmp

-Instalamos el modulo

-Descomprimimos

-Iniciamos apache y lo activamos para su ejecucion cada vez que iniciemos el servidor
service httpd start
chkconfig httpd on

-Configuramos ocsinventory-server. Por lo general la respuesta por default es el valor correcto y con nosotros presionar ENTER es suficiente.

-Modificamos en php.ini
vi /etc/php.ini y salimos guardando
post_max_size = 40M
upload_max_filesize = 100M

-Modificamos y colocamos la info del usuario root de MySQL
vi /etc/httpd/conf.d/z-ocsinventory-server.conf
# User allowed to connect to database
PerlSetEnv OCS_DB_USER root
# Password for user
PerlSetVar OCS_DB_PWD new-password

-Reiniciamos apache para que tome los cambios
service httpd restart

-Cambiamos la contraseña del usuario ocs en MySQL

-Abrimos un browser y nos vamos a la ip del servidor, en este ejemplo, http://192.168.1.45/ocsreports y colocamos los datos que nos pide. Damos click al botón Send.

-El script creara la db activando algunos valores. Escribimos el TAG o comentario que saldrá por default al ingresar un equipo al inventario, damos click al botón Submit.

-Se crea el TAG y ya esta instalado ocsinventory, entramos por primera vez dando click en Click here to enter OCS-NG GUI.

-Entramos con el usuario admin y contraseña admin. Damos click al botón Send.

-Eliminamos el script de instalación.
rm /usr/share/ocsinventory-reports/ocsreports/install.php

-Cambiamos la contraseña de admin dando click al botón de usuarios, en este ejemplo lo encerré en un circulo rojo.

-Cambiamos la contraseña de admin dándole click al botón del lápiz.

-Escribimos la contraseña en Password y damos click al botón verde.

-Ya cambiada la contraseña, desaparece el aviso rojo y ya estamos listos para agregar equipos pero eso lo veremos pronto en otro articulo.
